You can capture an audience for your business with thumb-stopping creative and graphics on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. The purpose of thumb-stopping advertisements are for consumers who are scrolling through their news feeds to stop at your ad because it was visually appealing. They will then examine it more to see if it’s something that they would be interested in. If your content is successful, the shopper will click your link or research to find out more about what you’re offering.

There are a few ways to be effective with thumb-stopping advertisements. Your ads need to be relevant to your audience, visually appealing, and they should express the message you’re trying to send about your business. It should tell a story and express a personality. Thumb-stopping creative will connect with the audience and direct them to a strong call-to-action in order to start a conversation with the consumer. The content you create needs to look and perform well on a mobile device in order to be successful, as the audience for your ads are most likely viewing them on a smartphone.

Relating to social media advertisements, thumb-stopping videos should be treated differently than television ads. There is only a short amount of time that you are able to capture someone’s attention in a news feed with online videos. They need to be quicker and tell a story in seconds, rather than in minutes. The video should also be designed with the sound off, because the majority of video consumed on mobile is watched without sound. Instead, there could be captions, visuals, or subtitles to help tell your story.

Potratz has experience with high quality, thumb-stopping campaigns! We excel in paid advertising and have an outstanding graphics and video production team to help make the creative for your promotions. We are happy to discuss any ideas you may have to make your business stand out from the competition.
